Eastern Michigan University's volleyball team has announced its spring schedule for 2025. Head Coach Kevin Foeman revealed the lineup on February 24, which includes six matches and one tournament.
The Eagles will begin their season against Michigan State's Spartans at a neutral site. This match is scheduled for March 14 at the Legacy Volleyball Club in Wixom, Michigan.
On March 29, Eastern Michigan will participate in the Wright State Tournament in Dayton, Ohio. The Eagles are set to play three matches against yet-to-be-determined opponents. Teams such as Ohio, Xavier, Kent State, Northern Kentucky, Cedarville, and Wittenberg will also compete in this tournament alongside EMU and Wright State.
Following the tournament, Eastern Michigan will travel to face Hillsdale College on April 4. The team will then return home for their final spring-season match against Michigan on April 14 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. Admission to this event is free.
This upcoming season follows a notable improvement from the previous year when the Eagles achieved an eight-win increase from their performance in 2023. They finished with a record of 13-19 in 2024 after a challenging first season under Coach Foeman with a record of 5-25.
The team welcomes new talent with three newcomers joining the roster: transfer setter Ashlynn Belcher from Old Dominion University, outside hitter AshleeKay Christensen from Carlisle High School in Iowa, and setter Kaylin Schroeder from Bedford High School in Temperance, Michigan.
Belcher brings significant experience to the team after playing three years with Old Dominion's Monarchs. In her most recent season in 2024, she participated in all games and led her team with 896 assists and an average of 8.22 assists per set. She was also recognized by being named to three all-tournament teams that year.
Christensen and Schroeder have both received multiple all-conference honors during their high school careers and have demonstrated success at club levels.
