The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) lacrosse team is set to face Canisius University this Saturday, March 1, at the EMU Indoor Practice Facility in Ypsilanti. The Eagles have a record of 2-2 and are coming off two victories during their road trip through the Carolinas. They defeated Presbyterian with a score of 19-10 on February 25 and Gardner-Webb with a score of 16-6 on February 27.

The game against Presbyterian marked the first win of the season for the Eagles and also the first victory for Maddie Dugan as head coach. "Maddie Dugan is in her first season guiding the Eagles," noted EMUEagles.com. Under her leadership, the team has scored a total of 35 goals in their last two games, setting a new program record for goals scored over two consecutive matches.

Key players have emerged during these recent games. Mackenzie Blackwell reached a milestone by scoring her 100th career goal at Gardner-Webb, contributing significantly to the team's success with multiple hat tricks this season. Katheryn Wilson also made notable contributions with three hat tricks so far this season.

Canisius University, on the other hand, holds a record of 1-3 after losing to Detroit Mercy on February 22. The Golden Griffins secured their only win against Kennesaw State earlier in the season.

This upcoming match will be the first meeting between EMU and Canisius. The Eagles are looking to build on their current momentum as they prepare for further challenges ahead.
