The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) tennis team is preparing for its final fall event at the 2024 Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. The tournament will take place from November 1-3 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center and will feature players from seven schools.

The competition begins each day at 9 a.m., with singles matches scheduled throughout the morning and one round of doubles in the afternoon. Participants include teams from Butler, DePaul, Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State, as well as EMU and host Michigan State.

Seven Eagles will participate in both singles and doubles events. Daniella Shved will compete in Flight A singles; Prerna Vichare in Flight B; Kseniia Saenko in Flight C; Marta Komar and Viki Hazmukova in Flight D; Regina Mendez and Lara Diaz Zayas in Flight E. In doubles, Saenko and Vichare are paired for Pod 2; Hazmukova and Komar for Pod 3; Diaz Zayas and Shved for Pod 4.

Recently at the MAC Fall Individuals held October 24-27, Sabina Brichackova achieved her 99th and 100th career wins. Freshman Iva Daneva also secured a notable victory after an impressive comeback win.

The Eagles' roster includes ten players representing nine countries. Head Coach Ryan Kucera is leading the team into his second season with hopes of returning to the MAC Tournament.

Assistant coaches Masha Polishchuk and Andrew Dobbs have joined this year to support the team's development.

In previous tournaments, Daneva made a significant comeback against Miami's Sara Zalukar but was later defeated by Northern Illinois' Nataly Ninova. Brichackova also participated but lost her opening match against Ball State's Elena Malykh.

In doubles play at the MAC Fall Individuals, Brichackova and Vichare reached the finals but finished as runners-up to Miami's Valentinsson and Zalukar duo.

Looking ahead, EMU plans to return to action in 2025 with a full schedule expected to be announced mid-November.
