The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team is preparing to participate in the Daniel Island Invitational on February 24-25, at the Daniel Island Golf Club in South Carolina. The event, hosted by the College of Charleston, will see EMU compete against 13 other teams, five of which are ranked in the national top 50.

Eastern's lineup includes Savannah de Bock, Erina Tan, Angelica Holman, Mariana Vega, and Riley Kim. Head Coach Josh Brewer expressed optimism about the tournament: "It will be nice to finally tee it up in a three-round tournament," he said. "The team has been competitive on our training trips and working hard for the spring season."

Savannah de Bock leads EMU with a scoring average of 70.4 and is currently ranked No. 69 nationally among individual players. She notably finished 12 out of 15 rounds under par during the fall season.

In addition to competing at Daniel Island, Eastern has scheduled participation in two more tournaments over the next two weeks: the River Landing Classic in North Carolina and the Gator Invitational in Florida.

Assistant Coach Caterina Don received an invitation to play at the Augusta National Women's Amateur this April with Brewer serving as her caddy.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan aims to use these competitions as preparation for their postseason journey. "Every goal we have is in front of us," Brewer stated. "We know it is important that we use this two-week journey to compete, improve, and connect as a team."
