Eastern Michigan women's basketball prepares for clash against Northern Illinois

The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) women's basketball team is set to face Northern Illinois University (NIU) in a Mid-American Conference matchup on Saturday, February 22. The game will take place at the Convocation Center in DeKalb, Illinois, with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET). Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+ with commentary from Peter Ferreri and Rodney Davis or listen to the broadcast on WEMU 89.1 FM.

Eastern Michigan enters the contest with a record of 1-23 overall and 0-13 in conference play, while Northern Illinois holds a 12-13 overall record and is 5-8 in MAC play. NIU recently saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a loss at Ohio.

In their last meeting on January 22, NIU defeated EMU 78-70 in Ypsilanti despite strong performances from Olivia Westphal and Sisi Eleko, who each scored 17 points for EMU.

Key players for NIU include Chelby Koker, Alecia Doyle, and Brooke Stonebraker, all averaging double figures in scoring. Koker also leads the team in assists.

For EMU, Sisi Eleko continues to be a standout performer with her impressive stats placing her among the top NCAA Division I players. She ranks highly in several categories including double-doubles and rebounds per game.

Looking ahead, EMU will host Miami University on February 26 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center before concluding their home schedule against Bowling Green State University on March 8.
