Eastern Michigan finishes Gator Invitational; prepares for Lake Las Vegas Invitational

The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team commenced its 2025 spring season at the Gator Invitational, held on February 15-16. The tournament took place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida, hosted by the University of Florida. Competing in the 48th edition of this event, the Eagles finished in 14th place with a total score of 38-over-par 878.

Florida secured the team title with a score of 17-under-par 823, narrowly edging out Oklahoma State by one stroke. The top five teams included Florida Gulf Coast and Georgia Southern tied for third at four-under-par, and Charlotte rounding out fifth place at five-over-par.

Rory McDonald-O'Brien led Eastern Michigan with an individual score of eight-over-par 218, tying for 45th place. James Baxter followed closely behind, tying for 55th with a ten-over-par performance. Tim Chan and Daniel Robles Delval both finished tied for 58th at eleven-over-par. Bavake Sihota completed his rounds in 77th position with a score of twenty-one-over-par.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will participate in the Lake Las Vegas Invitational from February 24-26 in Henderson, Nevada. This upcoming event is hosted by Arkansas State University and will feature a field of fifteen teams competing on the Reflection Bay Golf Course.
