Eastern Michigan cross country teams compete at Arturo Barrios Invitational and Falcon Invite

The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) men's and women's cross country teams participated in two events on Friday, October 18. The EMU women finished 11th in the 6k race at the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M University, while the men secured 12th place in the 8k event. At the Falcon Invite, held at Bowling Green State University, the women's team placed 10th.

In Texas, Paige Marchant led the EMU women's team with a personal-best time of 19:32 in the 6k race, finishing seventh overall among 402 competitors. Two other EMU athletes also made it to the top 100: Marta Moreno and Anita Zaro, with times of 20:30.6 and 20:41.9 respectively.

"All eight student-athletes from the Eastern Michigan women's team finished 207th or better," stated a representative from EMUEagles.com. Seven of these athletes achieved personal bests.

The men's team also had a notable performance, with Sam Peterson leading with a personal-best time of 23:32.6 in the 8k race, placing him at 33rd position. Ronan Codyre and Ty Dailey were among those who finished within the top 100.

Overall, EMU set a total of sixteen personal bests during these competitions.

At the Falcon Invite in Ohio, Cora Henderson marked her collegiate debut by leading her team with a time of 23:17.0 in the women's race. Nicolas Kline represented EMU's men’s team and completed his race in a time of 28:26.0.

Eastern Michigan will conclude its regular season on October 25 when it hosts the EMU Fall Classic at Hudson Mills Metropark.
