Eastern Michigan University's men's basketball senior forward, Da'Sean Nelson, has been recognized as the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. The announcement was made by the MAC on Monday, December 23.

Nelson, hailing from Toledo, Ohio and a product of Robert S. Rogers High School, Kilgore College, and DePaul University, achieved a career-high performance with 27 points and 13 rebounds in a game against Wright State on December 21. This performance marked his first career double-double as the Eagles secured an 86-82 victory after overcoming an 11-point halftime deficit.

Nelson's contribution to the game included scoring 19 points in the second half alone. He also recorded two assists and one steal while drawing 11 fouls against Wright State.

This recognition follows a previous honor received on December 2. Nelson is now the first player from Eastern Michigan since the 2019-20 season to receive multiple MAC Player of the Week awards in a single season. During that season, Boubacar Toure and Ty Groce each earned MAC West Division Player of the Week twice.

Currently, Nelson is averaging 14.0 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game for the 2024-25 season. His recent performances over seven games have seen him average 18.0 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game.
