Eastern Michigan University's head volleyball coach, Kevin Foeman, has announced the addition of seven new student-athletes to the team's roster for the 2024 season. The new recruits include Isabella Demers from Maumee, Ohio; Anna Guard from Burlington, Kentucky; Taeley Mahler from Fort Wayne, Indiana; Taylor Smith from Pewamo, Michigan; Rylee Szyszka from Belleville, Illinois; Wrigley Takats from Perrysburg, Ohio; and Hatteras Welker from Sunbury, Ohio.

Coach Foeman expressed his anticipation for the upcoming season: "After an incredibly successful spring season filled with tremendous growth in many areas, I am ready to see how our incoming athletes, freshmen and transfers, will impact the trajectory of our program." He highlighted the class of 2024 as being full of energetic and confident athletes.

Each player brings unique skills to the team. Isabella Demers was described by Foeman as a "team first" player who is calm yet energetic. Anna Guard has been noted for her dynamic ability to play every front row position and is expected to make an immediate impact with her speed and quickness.

Taeley Mahler joins as a versatile athlete with strong passing abilities and offensive potential. Taylor Smith comes highly recommended with numerous accolades and is seen as a foundational player for the program. Rylee Szyszka's defensive skills are complemented by her gritty mindset and adaptability.

Wrigley Takats brings size and a strong arm to the team following a productive senior year. Finally, Hatteras Welker is recognized for her blocking abilities and experience in club ball.

These newcomers will join previously announced recruits Ella Voorhees and Kaili Doctor for the fall 2024 season. Coach Foeman remains optimistic about their contributions: "I believe these athletes are ready to compete and push this program forward into the 2024 campaign."
