The Eastern Michigan University football team has been ranked eighth in the 2025 Mid-American Conference's Preseason Coaches Poll. The announcement was made by the MAC on July 24 during the MAC Football Media Day at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

The poll results were based on votes from the league's head coaches, including the University of Massachusetts for this season. Eastern Michigan earned a total of 68 points, placing them eighth among the 13 teams. The University of Toledo topped the poll with 135 points and seven first-place votes. Miami University followed closely in second place with 131 points and three first-place votes. Ohio University secured third place with 123 points and three first-place votes, while the University at Buffalo and Northern Illinois University rounded out the top five.

Western Michigan University was placed seventh with 71 points, followed by Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan University in ninth place with 65 points. Ball State University received 41 points to secure tenth place, while both Akron and UMass tied for eleventh place with 39 points each. Kent State University concluded the list with 12 points.

In addition to ranking teams, coaches voted on which team they believe will win the MAC Football Championship game. Toledo received six votes, Miami four, and Ohio three. The championship game is scheduled for December 6 at Ford Field and will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Eastern Michigan's Head Coach Chris Creighton will attend this year's MAC Football Media Day along with senior defensive lineman Jefferson Adam and senior offensive lineman Mickey Rewolinski. The event will be broadcast live on ESPN+ from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., featuring interviews with all MAC head coaches and several student-athletes.
