State Representative Tom Kunse, a Republican from Clare, has been honored with the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Champion of Free Enterprise award for the 2023-2024 legislative session. The award is given to legislators who have consistently voted on key bills in ways that benefit Michigan businesses and employees.

To qualify for this recognition, a legislator must maintain a 100% voting record on bills that align with the chamber's priorities throughout their term. Kunse expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award, stating, "There is no greater asset to a state than a healthy business environment." He emphasized the importance of recognizing the human aspects of a strong economy and noted that successful businesses benefit both employees and communities.

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce aims to support businesses and job providers by advocating for pro-business policies across various branches of state government. Wendy Block, Senior Vice President of Business Advocacy at the chamber, praised Kunse's contributions: “Representative Tom Kunse has been a great friend of the business community during his time in the Michigan Legislature.” She highlighted his perfect voting record with the chamber during the current legislative session as a reason for his recognition.
