EMU announces summer volleyball camps schedule

Eastern Michigan University's volleyball program has announced its 2024 summer camps, which will take place from July 15 to July 18. The announcement was made by Head Coach Kevin Foeman and the rest of the EMU volleyball team.

The schedule includes a three-day Youth Camp, an EMU Elite Camp, and four skill-focused clinics. The camps are open to participants with restrictions based on age, gender, grade, and capacity as specified for each camp. For more information or inquiries about the camps, individuals can contact the Eastern Michigan volleyball staff.

The Youth Camp is scheduled for July 15-17 at George Gervin GameAbove Center. It welcomes children from kindergarten to eighth grade and is designed to introduce all skills and fundamental skill development in volleyball. The registration fee is $100.

On July 16, three clinics will be held: Eagle Serving Clinic from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Eagle Hitting Clinic from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Eagle Setting Clinic also from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. These clinics cater to students in grades six through twelve and focus on serving power, hitting techniques, footwork, setting technique, game strategy respectively.

July 17 features the Eagle Passing & Defensive Clinic from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., aimed at developing passing skills with high repetition drills focusing on passing and back row defense.

The Elite Camp concludes the series on July 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering high-level instruction for athletes entering sixth grade up to college freshmen.

All activities will take place at George Gervin GameAbove Center with varying registration fees for each event.
