On May 9, President Biden was asked if he would consider Congressman John Moolenaar's proposal to end the spending of unused COVID funds. In referring to the COVID funding, President Biden said, "We don't need it all" and that the proposal is "on the table."

"I have been leading the effort to stop spending unused COVID funding and save money for taxpayers. President Biden has now admitted that unused COVID funding is no longer needed and said my proposal is on the table in negotiations on our nation’s spending. He should swiftly accept this common sense idea to rein in his runaway spending,” said Moolenaar.

Congressman Moolenaar's proposal to end COVID spending was included in the Limit, Save, Grow Act that passed the House of Representatives on April 26.
