State Representative Tom Kunse of Clare has introduced a resolution to acknowledge the efforts of Michigan's governor in maintaining the state's presence on the international stage. The resolution humorously applauds the governor's dedication to international travel, highlighting a recent overseas trip to meet with European officials and stakeholders.

Representative Kunse addressed the issue, stating, "While Michigan residents are busy dodging potholes, it's reassuring to know that our governor is off admiring the roads of Europe. International diplomacy is alive and well, thanks to her firm belief that state business is best conducted from a poolside cabana located anywhere but Michigan."

The tribute, intended as a lighthearted commentary, notes the importance of addressing local concerns. "There is plenty of work to be done right here at home," Kunse remarked. He emphasized that pressing local issues remain unresolved, such as infrastructure, education, and high living costs. "While the governor was focused on international relations, Michigan is waiting for its own set of pressing issues to get attention. Before we start meeting with other nations, maybe we should focus on the issues Michiganders actually care about—like crumbling roads, struggling schools, and skyrocketing costs. But hey, at least Michigan's reputation abroad has never been better."

The resolution serves as both a recognition of the governor's actions and a call to prioritize local matters, framed with a touch of humor.
