City of Lansing recently issued the following announcement.
There was a certain of type of programming that Izze was looking for in Lansing but couldn't find. Instead of throwing in the towel, she decided to make it happen herself. Now she's the founder of @thethoughtclub, a gathering space for queer folks across the spectrum to celebrate poetry, film, and each other (check them out at @thethoughtclub on Instagram).
"There is a wonderful, creative, and social LGBTQ+ community here," Izze says, "and I wanted to build on top of the work already being done. I'm just rolling out the red carpet for folks brave enough to build their community.” To learn more about Lansing's LGBTQ+ history, Izze recommends MSU's LGBTQ+ Special Collections.
A true Lanstronaut, Izze also has a penchant for Lansing's many parks and outdoor spaces, specifically the River Trail., which makes some sense because she has experience in blazing trails, too.
