Sen. Rick Outman (R-Six Lakes) recently visited Alma, Michigan to tour the Merrill Republic.
Outman said in a Facebook post that the Merrill art facility produces a large variety of amazing products for many different industries.
The Merrill Republic, or Merrill, serves multiple industries, such as robotics, aerospace, nuclear, oil and gas, energy, transportation and mining, by bringing them the services they need through Merrill’s ability to design, fabricate, machine and integrate, Merrill said on its website.
The company provides services from designing parts and machines to engineering and manufacturing them.
Merrill is not just a place of business, but a school as well--the Merrill Institute. The institute is an AWS-accredited welding school.
In his Facebook post, Outman said the Merrill Institute teaches students the highly demanded trade of welding.
The school trains and educates students on the art of welding and certifies them in as little as 12 weeks.
