State Representative Bill G. Schuette has been recognized as the Michigan Manufacturers Association's Legislator of the Year. Schuette, who represents the 95th House District, including all of Midland County and parts of Gladwin County, is serving his second term in the Legislature.

Schuette has been an advocate for maintaining manufacturing jobs in Michigan and aims to bring new opportunities to the state. He supports measures that reduce income taxes for workers, cut regulatory burdens for job providers, and expand domestic production potential for industries such as semiconductors.

"Manufacturing is the industry that helped build our middle class and creates quality, good-paying careers that brought families like my grandparents to our state," Schuette stated. "I’ll always work for solutions for Michigan that allow our communities to thrive and make our state an even better place to live, work and raise a family. Manufacturing is a crucial part of that equation in Michigan."

The award was presented recently by the Michigan Manufacturers Association.
