Chairman John Moolenaar and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are set to host a press conference. The event, organized in collaboration with the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA) and Representative Ashley Hinson, will take place on March 5 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the US Capitol, H-122.

The focus of the conference will be on addressing China's unfair trade practices, which include intellectual property theft, trade fraud, and tariff circumvention. A significant legislative update is expected during this event, featuring reintroduced bills and new initiatives aimed at strengthening U.S. defenses against economic coercion by China.

Representative Ashley Hinson is noted as the lead sponsor of new legislation that will be discussed. Other speakers include Chairman John Moolenaar and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi.

Business leaders affected by CCP trade crimes will also speak at the event. These include Tom Muth from Zekelman Industries, David Rashid from Plews and Edelmann, Andy Warlick from Parkdale Mills, Inc., Brian O’Shaugnessy from Revere Copper, Milton Magnus III from M&B Metal Products Company, Inc., Betsy Natz from Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, Brad Muller from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, and Christopher Carney from FDP Virginia Inc.

For those unable to attend in person, a live stream of the press conference will be available on the Select Committee’s official website and social media channels. Press inquiries or RSVPs can be directed to Alyssa Pettus via email.
