Chairman John Moolenaar has addressed the recent move by the Chinese Communist Party to limit exports of essential minerals such as gallium, germanium, and antimony to the United States. These minerals are vital for semiconductor production and other significant industries.

Moolenaar stated, "The CCP’s decision to restrict exports of gallium, germanium, antimony, and other key high-tech materials to the United States reaffirms the urgency of reducing our dependence on imports from the PRC. The CCP sees trade as a weapon to coerce the United States and will utilize every point of leverage it possesses over American companies and supply chains."

He emphasized that this situation highlights a critical vulnerability in U.S. supply chains. "We cannot allow our supply chains to be at risk like this," he continued. He assured that the Select Committee is actively working on legislative measures aimed at securing these essential minerals for both economic stability and national security.
