Eastern Michigan concludes baseball season with series against Northern Illinois

The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) baseball team is set to conclude its 2024 season with a three-game series against Northern Illinois University. The games will take place from May 16-18 at Ralph McKinzie Field in DeKalb, Illinois. Thursday's game starts at 3 p.m. CT, Friday's at 2 p.m. CT, and Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.

Several players have reached significant milestones this season. Logan Hugo, Glenn Miller, and Cory Taylor each surpassed the 100 hits mark in their careers, with Taylor achieving this milestone most recently against Bowling Green State University on May 10.

The Eagles have had notable performances throughout the season. They hit their second grand slam of the year against Michigan State University on May 14, courtesy of Logan Hugo’s tenth home run of the season. Additionally, Cory Taylor recorded five hits in a game against Oakland University on April 9.

Eastern Michigan has shown resilience in several games this season, notably coming back from a four-run deficit to secure a walk-off win against Bowling Green on May 10.

Liam Baker has been impressive as a freshman pitcher, holding opponents to zero earned runs in multiple appearances this season.

In terms of batting statistics, EMU ranks third in the conference with a .301 batting average and has logged double-digit hits and runs in several games this year.
