Eastern Michigan University's Almighty Williamson has been recognized as the Men's Most Co-Outstanding Track Performer by the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for his performance at the 2024 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The announcement was made on May 15, highlighting Williamson's achievement in setting a new program and MAC Outdoor Championships record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.53 seconds.
Williamson, hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, broke his previous record and now holds the 25th-fastest time nationally. This marks the third consecutive year an Eastern Michigan male athlete has received this honor, following Baldvin Magnusson's wins in 2022 and 2023.
Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Sue Parks expressed her satisfaction with Williamson's performance: "It was great to see Almighty win another MAC title. I know that it meant a lot to him to perform well for the team in his last MAC meet."
Associate Head Coach/Hurdles Sterling Roberts also praised Williamson: "What an incredible performance for Almighty... We're so proud of Almighty and all he's accomplished."
Other notable performances from Eastern Michigan included Formula Thompson winning gold in the triple jump and Linus Vennemann securing first place in the 3,000m steeplechase. Ryan Johnson excelled in the hammer throw and was named Freshman Field Performer of the Year.
The women's team saw Kyra Buffen take first place in the triple jump, marking a significant achievement as she became the first EMU woman to win this event at outdoor championships since 1999.
Several athletes earned All-MAC honors, including Paige Marchant, Alyson Davis, Saraiah Walkes, Makiya Worthy, Josephine Oloye, and Esme Davies on the second team for women.
Select athletes will advance to compete at the NCAA East Prelims hosted by the University of Kentucky from May 22-25.
