Congressman John Moolenaar and other members of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have written to FBI Director Christopher Wray and asked him for more answers on the bureau’s strategy to stop the CCP from undermining the United States from inside the country.
"The Chinese Communist Party will stop at nothing to gain an advantage on the United States. That includes setting up CCP police stations around the country to undermine American security and harass people who speak out against China. It is unacceptable for these stations to be active in the US and the FBI must provide answers to the American people and act swiftly to defend the country," said Moolenaar.
On April 17, the Department of Justice announced charges against two New York residents who were working in New York City and running a secret police station for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
In the letter, Moolenaar and other members of the Select Committee ask Director Wray “Is the FBI aware of any other such outposts in the United States?” and “What role do these outposts play in intelligence gathering in the United States?” The letter ends by asking the FBI for a full briefing on the CCP’s activities by May 31st.The letter to the FBI can be found here.
