An 'In The Lab' Update! Students in both our traditional and online sections of BIO 111 are learning contemporary lab techniques, including bacterial transformation. In a transformation, bacteria take up foreign DNA from their environment.
This image was captured by one of our students and shows regular E. coli cells glowing after they were able to “suck up” a copy of the gene for a green fluorescent protein from their environment.
