St. Clair Shores Public Library issued the following announcement on Nov 10.

Today is the 46th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The Edmund Fitzgerald was a shipping vessel in the Great Lakes from the year it was built, 1957, until it sank in November 10, 1975 during a storm.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was considered a magnificent ship that beat many records and it is still a mystery what sank the ship and took it and its crew to the bottom of Lake Superior.

Richard Cozzens built the model of the Fitzgerald and Ruby Cozzens and he gifted the Library with the model a number of years ago and it has been part of the Library ever since.
