City of Howell recently issued the following announcement.
We are so proud of our Finance Department! The City has received an “unmodified opinion”, which is the highest opinion (or an A+, if you will), for financial reporting in the 2020/21 Fiscal Audit.
Additionally, our Finance Department has been awarded merits of recognition for excellence in financial reporting by Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 14th consecutive year.
The GFOA's Awards for Excellence in Government Finance recognizes innovative program contributions to the practice of government finance that exemplify outstanding financial management. The awards stress practical, documented work that offers leadership to the profession and promotes improved public finance.
