City of Coldwater issued the following announcement on Oct 28.
Coldwater has been selected as a Main Street Select Level Community!
What does this exciting news mean for Downtown Coldwater?
- The Coldwater DDA staff will receive intensive training and technical assistance from Michigan Main Street program staff.
- The Coldwater DDA will adopt the Main Street 4-Point Approach (Promotions, Design, Economic Vitality, and Organization) and create committees to tackle projects that meet these objectives.
- The Coldwater DDA will continue to recruit volunteers and fundraise for its projects and programs.
- Currently, the DDA has raised over $34,000, and 37 people are active or interested volunteers.
- Specific transformation strategies will be developed using public input and local market data.
- Additional funding is made available to downtown businesses via Match on Main.
- Michigan Main Street (MMS) staff will schedule visits to work with the Coldwater DDA on a Baseline Assessment and Strategy Identification.
