Public Hearing on proposed Isabella County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility Project

County of Isabella issued the following announcement on Oct 29.

The Isabella County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed Isabella County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility Project beginning at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Isabella County has applied to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for assistance to construct the proposed $41.5 million Isabella County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility Project, and information regarding the development of this Project will be the subject of this hearing.  The hearing will provide an opportunity for the citizenry to become acquainted with the Project and to provide comment.  The hearing will be held at the Isabella County Commission on Aging, 2200 S. Lincoln Rd, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, as part of a hybrid meeting (in-person and electronically).  Please note, face coverings are required while in all County buildings.

Site plans for the proposed Isabella County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility Project are available for public inspection during business hours at the County Administration Office located in Room 205 of the Isabella County Building, 200 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.  As a reminder, face coverings are required while in the County Building.

Notice is hereby given that the Isabella County Board of Commissioners will conduct its regularly scheduled November 16, 2021 Regular Meeting as a Hybrid meeting (in-person and electronic).  The meeting will be held in-person at the Isabella County Commission on Aging located at 2200 S. Lincoln Rd, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 48858 and will also be held electronically via Zoom at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting materials related to the meeting are available on the homepage of the County website at www.isabellacounty.org under “Board, Committee, & Commission Meetings”. Contact information for each County Commissioner is listed on the “Board of Commissioners” page of the County website at www.isabellacounty.org.

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, as allowed under the Open Meetings Act and consistent with the Isabella County Declaration of a Local State of Emergency (Resolution No. 20-12-03 effective December 15, 2020), the Regular Meeting is being held as a Hybrid meeting to allow the public to attend in-person or electronically.

To access the meeting by telephone: Please call (312) 626-6799.  When prompted for the “Meeting ID” enter “833 5629 5201” and the “#” sign.  If prompted for a “Passcode” or “Participant ID” enter “#” sign.  You will join the meeting with your audio muted and you will be able to hear the meeting participants live.  Public comment will be received during the normal public comment sections of the meeting via telephone call-in.  To raise your hand for public comment, telephone participants should press *9.  The host will announce the last three (3) digits of the caller’s telephone number to alert the public comment participant that it is their turn to speak.  The Board Chairman will call on you to speak, and your audio will be unmuted for your public comment time.

Persons with disabilities needing assistance to participate may call the Isabella County Administration Office at (989) 317-4053.  Persons requiring speech or hearing assistance may contact the County through the Michigan Relay Center at 711.  A minimum of one (1) business day of advance notice will be necessary for accommodation.
