State Rep. Jason Wentworth (R-Farwell) expressed approval for the 97th District businesses supporting the needs of the community on his Facebook page. They have provided much-needed equipment to those essential workers providing care during the coronavirus pandemic. This includes first responders, as well as those on the front line of health care.
Wentworth encourages businesses or individuals to email him with information about how they are helping at JasonWentworth@house.mi.gov.
One of these helpful businesses is Northern Logistics Worldwide. The logistics company is working tirelessly to help get supplies to those who need them. Northern Logistics promotes social distancing and other business practices to handle COVID-19.
Their website advises truck drivers to carefully plan routes and practice self-care. They also offer procedures for sanitizing during driving.
Another business that has helped the community is Vantage Plastics. Vantage Plastics has begun making face masks and has already made more than 4,000 plastic shields since April 1.
MidMichigan Health, Midland County Office of Emergency Management and Ascension Standish Hospital have already received their first shipments.
Vantage Plastics has begun to help fill the community’s needs for personal protective equipment, which is considered an essential service. They are committed to their mission of ensuring a sustainable future, forming solutions and keeping operations running.
The team at Vantage Plastics has systems in place to assist its employees. Many who work there have taken advantage of the Emergency Family Medical Leave Act and are staying home at this time.
For businesses or individuals interested in obtaining a face shield, they are encouraged to email sales@vantageplastics.com.
Health care workers who provide essential, life-saving treatments are posting on Facebook in thanks and gratitude. “We would like to thank Vantage Plastics for making our job a little bit easier! We love our new face shields! Thank you for stepping up and making a difference in our communities!” said Nicole Crowl Jones, clinical coordinator at Fresenius.
