City of Mount Pleasant issued the following announcement on Feb. 12.
On February 11, 2020 at 4:13p.m. The Mt. Pleasant Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire of a duplex at 325 N. Lansing Street. Firefighters arriving on scene observed heavy smoke coming from the north side of the structure. Mt. Pleasant Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire in the lower level apartment. Both units sustained heavy smoke damage. All occupants were able to exit the structure safely. Two of the occupants were treated and transported to an area hospital for minor smoke inhalation. There were no firefighters injured during this call.
This structure fire is still under investigation at this time. Mt. Pleasant Fire Department was assisted by Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Isabella County Dispatch and Mobile Medical Response.
