Bill G. Schuette, a Michigan State Representative, has recently used his social media platform to address several issues affecting his constituents and the state at large.
On July 22, 2025, Schuette highlighted concerns about representation in the State Senate for residents of Midland, Bay, and Saginaw counties. He stated, "Today marks 200 days that some 270,000 people in Midland, Bay and Saginaw have gone without a voice in our State Senate. @GovWhitmer should do her job, call the vote and YOU should get a tax credit for the Governor taxing you without representation."
Later that day, Schuette discussed efforts to improve education outcomes in Michigan. He wrote on July 22: "Last week, @MI_Republicans and I met with @EDSecMcMahon to discuss our shared efforts to improve Michigan’s failing reading scores, protect woman’s sports and unlock new funding options for students and parents. Thank you, Secretary McMahon for your time!"
On July 24, Schuette provided an update on infrastructure advocacy. He posted: "Today, I testified before a House Appropriations subcommittee in support of my two top funding priorities: Rebuilding the the Four Lakes Dams and flood reduction infrastructure. I will always be a fighter for our community."
Schuette represents areas impacted by ongoing challenges related to legislative vacancies as well as infrastructure needs following dam failures in central Michigan. The region has faced prolonged recovery efforts after significant flooding caused by dam breaches in May 2020 led to widespread damage and displacement.
