State Representative Tom Kunse from Clare has announced the upcoming 3rd Annual Legislative Softball Game, set for June 4 at Jackson Field in Lansing. The bipartisan event, which features lawmakers from both parties, aims to raise funds for a charitable cause while fostering friendly competition.

Last year's game was noted for its positive atmosphere. Rep. Kunse stated, "The past two years have been incredible. They were filled with laughter, teamwork, and making real impact. This game gives us a chance to set politics aside and come together to support a meaningful cause. It's a great reminder that when we work together, we can do something truly special."

This year, the proceeds will benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind, a nonprofit based in Michigan that aids those with vision loss by providing guide dogs and training. Rep. Kunse commented on this choice, saying, "We're honored to partner with Leader Dogs for the Blind this year. Their mission is life-changing. The independence and confidence they help provide to those living with vision loss is inspiring."

Rep. Alabas Farhat from Dearborn emphasized the significance of the event, noting, "It's exciting to see this game grow into a real tradition at the Capitol. Beyond the fun on the field, it's an opportunity to spotlight the work of an outstanding Michigan organization. Leader Dogs for the Blind is transforming lives, and I'm grateful we can rally support in such a unique and collaborative way."

Donations to support Leader Dogs for the Blind can be made at the event's dedicated fundraising page.
