Eastern Michigan women's basketball to face Kent State; Alumni Weekend scheduled

The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) women's basketball team is set to play against Kent State University at the M.A.C. Center in Kent, Ohio, on January 29. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and can be watched live on ESPN+. Updates will also be available on EMU's official X account.

This matchup marks the Eagles' third road game in 11 days. The Eagles currently hold a record of 1-17 overall and 0-8 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), while their opponents, the Golden Flashes, have a record of 13-7 overall and are 6-2 in MAC play.

EMU player Sisi Eleko has been performing strongly, achieving her tenth double-double of the season with a recent performance that included scoring 25 points and securing 12 rebounds. "Sisi Eleko is the only player in the MAC averaging a double-double as she ranks second in both points (19.0) and rebounds (10.2)," according to EMUEagles.com.

Olivia Westphal has shown consistent shooting prowess from beyond the arc, hitting multiple three-pointers across several games. "Westphal has made 3+ three-pointers in seven games this year," states EMUEagles.com.

Kent State's Bridget Dunn leads their rebounding efforts with an average of 10.4 boards per game, which is tops in the MAC. Jenna Batsch leads their scoring with an average of 15.3 points per game.

In terms of historical matchups, Kent State holds a significant lead over EMU with a series score of 47-28 and has won their last seven encounters.

Following this game against Kent State, EMU will host Toledo on February 2 as part of Alumni Weekend events and National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebrations.
