Eastern Michigan University's tennis team is set to face the University of Cincinnati and the University of Dayton this weekend. The Eagles, who are currently undefeated with a 2-0 record, will compete against the Bearcats in Cincinnati on Saturday, January 25 at 1:30 p.m. The following day, they will play against the Flyers in Miamisburg.

"Eastern is 15-32 in its first road contest of the season and had dropped its last three, including a 7-0 loss at Northwestern," according to a press release from EMUEagles.com. A victory over Cincinnati would mark Eastern's first win over a Power 4 opponent since defeating Michigan State on February 6, 2004.

The Eagles' roster for the current season includes ten players from nine different countries and features six returnees alongside four newcomers. Head coach Ryan Kucera is entering his second year with the team and aims to lead them to consecutive MAC Tournament appearances for the first time since 2014 and 2015.

In their previous encounters with Cincinnati, Eastern holds an impressive record of twelve wins and one loss. They have also secured victories in their last eight meetings against Cincinnati dating back to February 10, 2001.

Meanwhile, Dayton stands at a balanced record of one win and one loss for this season after recently defeating Northern Kentucky. Historically, Eastern leads their series against Dayton with four wins out of five matches.

The upcoming matches follow Eastern's successful home doubleheader opener against Ferris State where they won both contests without dropping a single match point.
