Former Eastern Michigan University athlete and two-time Olympian Donald Scott is set to compete in the triple jump at the Bob Parks Memorial Meet on January 25. This event will take place at Eastern's Bowen Field House in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Scott is among five former EMU track and field athletes returning for this meet. The university will host teams from various schools, including Madonna, Detroit Mercy, Windsor, and Northwood. Additionally, women's teams from Bowling Green and Central Michigan will participate.
The meet begins with field events at 10 a.m., followed by track events at 1 p.m. Admission is free for all attendees.
Alongside Scott, other EMU alumni competing as unattached athletes include Newlyn Stephenson in the weight throw, Natalie Cizmas in the 800-meter run, Almighty Williamson in the 60-meter hurdles, and Cameron Hart in the high jump.
Last year's inaugural Bob Parks Memorial saw EMU athletes achieve numerous first-place finishes and personal bests. As they return for this second edition of the event, fans can expect competitive performances from both returning alumni and current team members.
