Eastern Michigan University senior gymnast Raisa Boris has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, as announced by the MAC office on Tuesday, January 21.

Boris, from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, previously received this recognition four times in 2024. Her recent performance at the Golden Girls Classic on January 17 led EMU's gymnastics team to victory with a score of 39.125 as the Eagles' sole all-around competitor.

During the competition, Boris achieved top-10 finishes across all four events. Notably, she secured second place in beam with a score of 9.825 and recorded scores of at least 9.8 in both bars (9.825) and floor (9.800). Her contributions helped Eastern Michigan achieve a team score of 195.125, surpassing MAC rivals Ball State and Northern Illinois, marking an undefeated start to their season for the first time since at least 2001.

Currently, Boris leads the MAC with an all-around average of 39.000 and a bars mark of 9.825 while ranking fourth in floor exercises with a 9.838 average.

The next event for EMU will be a home meet against Kent State on Sunday, January 26 at George Gervin GameAbove Center starting at 1 p.m.
