Eastern Michigan University's men's basketball team is set to host Old Dominion University on February 8, 2025. This game marks the second leg of the Mid-American Conference-Sun Belt Conference Challenge. The announcement was made on January 13, 2025.

In the first leg of the MAC-SBC Challenge held on November 4, 2024, Eastern Michigan faced a defeat against Texas State with a score of 64-44. The Sun Belt Conference won seven out of the twelve contests during this initial round.

Historically, Eastern Michigan holds a record of one win and two losses in the MAC-SBC Challenge. They previously defeated Georgia Southern on November 11, 2023, with a score of 70-60 but lost to Louisiana-Monroe on February 10, 2024, by an 82-76 margin.

The MAC-SBC Challenge represents a scheduling alliance in both men's and women's basketball between the two conferences. It began on November 4 with twelve MAC women's basketball teams hosting SBC teams. Meanwhile, twelve MAC men's teams will travel to play against SBC opponents.

The upcoming games on February 8 are determined based on real-time NET rankings. The matchups will be hosted by MAC men and Sun Belt women teams. Each participating team is guaranteed one home and one away game each season.

All games within this challenge will be broadcasted via an ESPN platform.

On February 8, other notable matchups include South Alabama at Akron and Southern Miss at Ball State among others.

Following their game against Old Dominion, Eastern Michigan will travel to Central Michigan for another matchup scheduled for January 14 at McGuirk Arena.
