The Eastern Michigan University tennis team is preparing to begin its 2025 spring season at the Michigan Invitational, scheduled for January 10-12. The event will take place at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Four members of the Eagles will compete in singles and doubles matches against players from the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, and Texas Tech University.

"The tournament will be streamed live via PlaySight.com with live results being provided through MGoBlue.com," according to information released by EMUEagles.com. The matches are set to start at 10 a.m. each day.

Participants from Eastern Michigan include Iva Daneva, Viki Hazmukova, Marta Komar, and Daniella Shved. This year's invitational features teams ranked in the ITA National Rankings: No. 8 Michigan and No. 15 Ohio State.

The Eagles' head coach Ryan Kucera returns for his second season with aspirations of guiding the team to consecutive MAC Tournament appearances—a feat last achieved in 2014 and 2015.

Eastern's roster includes ten players from nine different countries such as Argentina, Czechia, India, Israel, Mexico, North Macedonia, Poland, Russia, and the United States. New additions to the coaching staff this year are Masha Polishchukand Andrew Dobbs.

The Eagles have been predicted to finish third in the MAC Preseason Coaches Poll with Miami and Toledo ahead of them. Last season marked their first appearance in the MAC Tournament since 2018.

Sabina Brichackova recently achieved her career's 100th win during an event held in Hamilton, Ohio. She aims to enter EMU's all-time top twenty list for doubles wins alongside her partner Prerna Vichare.

Eastern's dual schedule kicks off on January 18 with a home doubleheader against Ferris State University at the Chippewa Club.
