The Eastern Michigan University tennis team has been projected to finish third in the 2025 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll. The announcement was made on January 7, based on votes from the conference's head coaches who ranked the eight programs vying for the MAC title.

Eastern Michigan earned 35 points, securing the third position, an improvement from last year's fourth-place tie with Ball State University when they accumulated 28 points. Miami University is predicted to be the champion with 48 points and six first-place votes, followed by the University of Toledo with 38 points and one first-place vote.

Northern Illinois University received 30 points to rank fourth, while Ball State came fifth with 25 points. The University at Buffalo secured sixth place with 23 points and one first-place vote. Western Michigan University and Bowling Green State University were placed seventh and eighth with 14 and seven points respectively.

In addition to ranking predictions, coaches voted on potential winners of the upcoming MAC Tournament scheduled for April 24-25 in Toledo, Ohio. Miami garnered five votes as a likely tournament winner. Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and Toledo each received one vote. Teams must finish in the top four of regular season standings to qualify for this tournament. Last year, Eastern Michigan achieved this by earning the No. 4 seed but lost a close match against Toledo in the semifinals.

The Eagles will commence their spring season this week as four players participate in the Michigan Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from January 10-12.
