Eastern Michigan University's senior forward, Da'Sean Nelson, has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week for the third time this season. This recognition follows his outstanding performance against Northern Illinois on January 4, where he scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Nelson's achievement marks him as the first MAC player to receive this honor three times in one season since Entrique Freeman from Akron was recognized eight times during the 2023-24 season. His performance included scoring 16 points in each half, contributing significantly to Eastern Michigan's 75-71 victory over Northern Illinois.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Nelson drew eight fouls, provided two assists, and blocked one shot during the game. He also achieved a personal best by converting 12 field goals.
Nelson is currently averaging 15.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game for the 2024-25 season. Over his last nine games, he has increased his averages to 19.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
