The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has announced the 2024 Men's and Women's Cross Country Academic All-MAC Teams, with Eastern Michigan University (EMU) securing 13 spots. This marks EMU's largest cross country Academic All-MAC team since 2018, when they had 18 honorees.
The Academic All-MAC honor recognizes student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participate in at least half of the contests for their sport.
Buffalo led the conference with 19 honorees, followed by Central Michigan with 16 and Ohio with 15. Eastern Michigan was fourth with its total of 13 honorees out of the 127 MAC cross country student-athletes recognized.
From EMU's women's team, Sophie Emin, Ella Garvin, Marta Moreno, Chloie Musta, Laisette Rachal, Cara Weber, and Anita Zaro were selected. Emin, Rachal, and Zaro received this recognition for the first time. Garvin and Weber earned it for the second time while Moreno and Musta were honored for the third time.
On the men's side from EMU, Ronan Codyre, Ty Dailey, Carson McCoy, Sam Peterson, Aaron Schwieterman, and Kian Wiles were acknowledged. Codyre, Dailey, McCoy, and Schwieterman are first-time recipients. Peterson and Wiles have been recognized twice during their collegiate careers.
