Eastern Michigan University's volleyball team has achieved notable academic recognition, with four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Volleyball Academic All-District team. The announcement was made on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The CSC's Academic All-District Volleyball teams highlight student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically across various divisions including NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. To qualify for this honor, athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have significant participation in their team's matches.
Hannah Blaney from Saline, Michigan achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA while participating in all 32 matches of the season. Kendal Bonney from Pioneer, Ohio earned her place with a 3.75 GPA and played in 30 matches. Abby Stanford from Zanesville, Ohio also maintained a 4.00 GPA and started in 24 of the total matches. Maddie Stayer from Mentor, Ohio holds a 3.70 GPA and played in 31 matches.
This marks Stanford's second consecutive year receiving this honor after being recognized following the previous season as well. For Blaney, Bonney, and Stayer, it is their first time being acknowledged since joining Eastern Michigan University.
