The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team faced a challenging game against the University of Notre Dame, ranked No. 8/No. 9, on December 15, 2024. The match took place at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Indiana, where the Eagles were defeated by a significant margin of 118-49. This loss brought Eastern Michigan's record to 1-6 for the season.

Olivia Smith led the Eagles with 13 points in her return to Indiana, scoring eight points in the fourth quarter alone. "Olivia Smith scored a season-high 13 points for the Eagles," as noted in game reports. She also contributed two assists and two rebounds.

Sisi Eleko added ten points to her tally, continuing her streak of scoring double figures in all seven games this season and marking it as the 49th time in her collegiate career. Mackenzie Amalia matched Eleko's ten-point contribution while leading with five rebounds.

Throughout the game, Eastern managed six three-pointers, extending their streak to eight consecutive games with at least five triples—a feat not achieved since the 2018-19 season.

Jada Williams scored four points and secured three rebounds in her second consecutive game appearance. Meanwhile, Kyndal Lewis made her season debut after recovering from an injury that kept her out since last season.

The defeat marked several historical notes for Eastern Michigan: they remain winless against Associated Press Top 25 teams with an all-time record of 0-19 and have yet to secure a victory against Notre Dame after five attempts.

Looking ahead, Eastern will participate in the UTRGV Holiday Classic on December 19-20 in Edinburg, Texas. They will face off against host team University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and then compete against Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.
