The Eastern Michigan University football team held its 62nd annual banquet on December 8, 2024, at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest. The event celebrated the team's individual award winners for the year.
Linebacker James Djonkam was honored as both the team's Most Valuable Player and recipient of the John E. Borowiec Award for being the Most Valuable Defensive Player. Djonkam ranked fourth in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) with an average of 9.8 tackles per game and earned recognition as MAC Defensive Player of the Week three times.
Quarterback Cole Snyder received the James M. "Bingo" Brown Award as the team's Most Valuable Offensive Player. Snyder started all 12 games and amassed over 3,000 yards of total offense, becoming one of only five EMU quarterbacks to achieve this since 2004.
Defensive lineman Justin Jefferson earned both the Theme Award and Torch Bearer Leader Award, contributing significantly to his team with multiple tackles and sacks throughout the season.
Kicker Jesús Gómez was named Special Teams Most Valuable Player for his performance in field goals, achieving a program-record 57-yard field goal against Washington.
Other awards included Mickey Rewolinski receiving the Harold E. Sponberg Down Lineman Award, Jere Getzinger taking home the Elton J. Rynearson Scholar-Athlete Award, and Oran Singleton recognized as Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
Eastern Michigan also achieved notable rankings nationally and within MAC in various statistical categories such as third-down conversion percentage and blocked kicks.
The banquet highlighted several players' contributions throughout a successful season for Eastern Michigan University's football team.
