The Eastern Michigan University swim and dive team secured its third victory of the 2024-25 season, defeating Oakland University with a score of 161-139. The event took place at Jones Natatorium on November 21.

Eastern Michigan claimed victories in both relay events and eight out of sixteen events overall. This marks their first 3-1 start since the 2019-20 season, which was Head Coach Derek Perkins' inaugural year leading the program.

In the opening event, Eastern won the 200-yard medley relay with Kiersten Russell, Abby Szadorski, Tristen Mina, and Marlee Christie finishing first in a time of 1:44.22. Szadorski excelled by winning three events, including both breaststroke races. She has consistently dominated these events throughout the season.

Nehir Oz achieved her first career wins with personal bests in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.09) and also won the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.57). Kiersten Russell contributed to both winning relays and placed second in two individual events.

Divers Malia Maire and Rebekah Knapp earned NCAA Zone Diving Championships cuts in the one-meter dive. Maire finished second with a career-high score while Knapp matched her personal best in the three-meter dive for her second win this season.

The meet concluded with Eastern's triumph in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Emma Littrell, Lucy Noble, Sophie Gatrall, and Russell secured victory by nearly three seconds over Oakland.

Next on their schedule is participation in their first invitational of the season at Denison University from December 5 to December 7.
