Six Eastern Michigan University soccer players have been recognized as 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees. The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 19.

The honored athletes include senior Maddie O'Farrell from Haslett, Michigan; juniors Secora Johnson and Sarah Van Euwen from Ohio; redshirt sophomore Ella Holland from Georgia; and sophomores Kate Robinson and Rosalie Takacsy from Michigan and New York, respectively. Notably, Johnson and Holland were also recipients of this honor in 2023.

The Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams are selected by the College Sports Communicators to acknowledge student-athletes for their academic achievements alongside their athletic performances. To qualify, athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and participate in at least 90% of their team's games or start in at least two-thirds of them. Each school is limited to six nominations.

Maddie O'Farrell, a biology major, started all 18 matches this year, scoring three goals with one assist. Secora Johnson, also studying biology, played all 18 matches with significant contributions including an equalizer against Western Michigan. Sarah Van Euwen anchored the defense while scoring a game-winning goal against UIC.

Ella Holland, majoring in economics, stopped 77 shots throughout the season. Biology major Kate Robinson contributed an assist against Central Michigan. Exercise science major Rosalie Takacsy assisted in securing a point against Miami.
