Jalen Terry led the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team with 25 points in a narrow 71-63 defeat against Cleveland State at the Wolstein Center. The game, held on Saturday, November 16, saw Eastern Michigan ahead by two points with under four minutes remaining. However, Cleveland State scored nine consecutive points to secure the win.

Terry, from Flint, Michigan, achieved six three-pointers for the second game in a row after scoring 28 points against IU Indy on November 14. "Terry's six three-pointers matched his career high," noted an EMU representative.

Eastern started strong, leading by six points early on. Yet, an 18-8 run by Cleveland State shifted momentum to the home team who led at halftime with a score of 37-33. Although Eastern fought back to take a brief lead late in the game, Cleveland State regained control and won.

Eastern's overall record now stands at 2-2 while Cleveland State improved to 3-2. The Eagles shot 41.1% from the floor and made seven out of twenty three-point attempts. Christian Henry contributed with a career-high six assists and added 13 points.

"Eastern Michigan outrebounded Cleveland State, 34-29," highlighted another note from EMU. Despite their efforts on rebounds and having double-digit offensive boards in each of their first four games this season, they were outscored in bench points by a significant margin of 22-6.

Historically, Eastern Michigan moved to a record of 24 wins and ten losses against Cleveland State with this being their first visit since December 9, 1992. The team also continued its streak of hitting at least one three-pointer in now 617 consecutive games.

Next on Eastern Michigan's schedule is an away game against Oakland University set for Thursday, November 21.
