The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team secured a 10th place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, hosted at Silvercreek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio. The event was organized by the Cleveland Sports Commission and the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Meanwhile, the men's team placed 14th.

Leading the women’s team was Paige Marchant from London, Ontario. She achieved a 15th-place finish with a time of 19:59.2. This performance marks her fastest time in a 6k regional meet and earned her all-region accolades for the first time in her career. "Marchant's 15th-place finish marks the best result by an EMU woman at a regional meet since Natalie Cizmas finished in 10th place (20:33.3) in 2019," according to the report.

Additional scorers for the women’s team included Marta Moreno, Anita Zaro, Liv Hatch, and Lucy Jones with times of 20:46.5, 20:54.9, 21:10.8, and 21:17.9 respectively.

In comparison with other MAC schools participating in the event, Eastern Michigan finished third behind Miami and Toledo which scored 340 and 357 points respectively.

In totality across both events, eight personal bests were set by Eastern Michigan athletes including Chloie Musta who completed the women's race in a personal best time of 21:43.7.

The final results showed Notre Dame leading both categories with their women's team scoring 51 points and men's team scoring 70 points.

Eastern Michigan now awaits selection for participation in the NCAA Cross Country Championships scheduled to take place in Madison, Wisconsin on November 23rd.
