Eastern Michigan University's Sports Medicine Department has announced significant staff changes to strengthen its healthcare services for student-athletes. The department has promoted three current staff members and welcomed two new professionals to its team.
Danielle Darroch has been elevated to the role of senior associate athletic trainer, continuing her work with the women's soccer team. Kassidy Jensen has advanced to associate athletic trainer, now focusing on the volleyball program after her previous involvement with rowing. Jake Keary is also promoted to associate athletic trainer, maintaining his care responsibilities for the gymnastics team.
Gretchen Fox, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Health and Well-Being, expressed enthusiasm about these promotions: "I'm thrilled to announce the promotions of Danielle, Kassidy, and Jake," she stated. "They each have shown an unwavering commitment to our student-athletes and sports medicine program."
Joining the team are Marc Malek and Brandon Charping as assistant athletic trainers. Malek will be responsible for the women's rowing team, bringing experience from Madonna University and Michigan Stars FC. He begins his new role on November 11.
Charping will focus on baseball, coming from a background with the University of Akron's baseball team and MLB Draft League's Mahoning Valley Scrappers. He starts on November 18.
Fox highlighted the additions by saying: "I'm excited to have Marc and Brandon complete our staff... I am confident he will be a great addition to our staff and positively impact the health and safety of the baseball program."
