The Eastern Michigan University football team faced a setback in their first midweek #MACtion game of the season, losing 35-10 to Ohio University on Wednesday. The Eagles, now with a record of 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-American Conference, struggled to capitalize on key plays against the Bobcats, who improved to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

The game began with a scoreless first quarter highlighted by Joey Zelinsky blocking a field goal attempt. Eastern Michigan scored first when Delbert Mimms III caught a shovel pass from Cole Snyder for a touchdown. Ohio responded with two touchdowns before halftime, leading 14-7.

In the second half, Quentavius Scandrett's interception briefly halted Ohio's momentum, but an interception thrown by Snyder allowed Ohio to extend their lead to 21-7. Jesús Gómez managed a field goal early in the fourth quarter, yet Ohio added two more touchdowns to secure their victory.

Key performances included Jesús Gómez scoring four points through one PAT and a field goal, reaching his season total to 81 points. Delbert Mimms III continued his strong season with his ninth touchdown. Luke Murphy led defensively with twelve tackles and recorded double-digit tackles for consecutive games.

The loss marked Eastern Michigan's third straight defeat against Ohio, falling further behind in their historical series at 12-21-1. The Eagles last defeated the Bobcats in October 2016.

Eastern Michigan will return home for their final game of the regular season against the University at Buffalo on November 20th at Rynearson Stadium.
