The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team is set to host Alabama A&M University on Saturday, November 9. The game will take place at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, with a scheduled start time of 1 p.m. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+ with Brent Balbinot and Claire Dau providing commentary. Additionally, Tom Helmer will offer live coverage on WEMU (89.1 FM) and The Varsity Network.

A special promotion allows fans to receive a free ticket by donating at least one non-perishable canned good at the gates. This initiative is part of a Mid-American Conference-wide food drive competition between EMU and Buffalo, which concludes on November 17.

In their season opener against Texas State, the EMU Eagles scored 71 points despite losing by four. Sisi Eleko made an impressive debut with a career-high 28 points and nine rebounds. Mackenzie Amalia also shone with 12 assists, setting a new personal best. Olivia Westphal contributed significantly by scoring 20 points and making five three-point shots.

Eastern Michigan's offense reached 71 points in their opening game, marking it as one of their highest-scoring games compared to last season's averages. This performance highlighted individual achievements such as Eleko's national ranking for her scoring performance and Amalia's leading assist record.

Three players debuted for EMU: Mackenzie Amalia, Brooklyn Thrash, and Sisi Eleko. They started after transferring from Canisius College. The Bulldogs of Alabama A&M come into this matchup following an 84-59 loss to No. 24 Alabama.

This meeting marks the first encounter between Eastern Michigan and Alabama A&M in program history. EMU has previously maintained a perfect record against teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), winning all three previous matchups against Florida A&M.

Following this home game, Eastern Michigan will play its first away game of the season against Michigan State University in East Lansing on Monday, November 11.
